About Fuerté
In Spanish, "fuerte" means 'strong,' and "té" means 'tea.' We brought these two words together and our protein tea brand was born. Built into the Fuerté name is not only a commitment to helping people build and maintain their physical strength, but also to reducing the stigma around mental health. This is central to our mission, and it's why we write "to redefine what it means to be strong," on the back of every Fuerté can.
Our Mission
I started Fuerté to provide a refreshing and smooth alternative to traditional protein shakes that I often found to be chalky and are primarily available in indulgent dessert flavors. Adequate protein intake is also essential to maintaining our muscle mass and physical strength as we age, and it's sometimes hard to hit those protein goals. That's where Fuerté comes in.
However, strength is about so much more than big biceps or a strong core. A key component of Fuerté's brand is to raise awareness for mental health, which was inspired by my time volunteering as a suicide prevention hotline counselor. Individuals experiencing mental health challenges, especially teenagers and young adults, can feel like they're a burden to others, and often are simply unaware of the resources available to them.
That's why I plan to also use Fuerté's platform to help expand the conversation and demonstrate that talking about our mental health is in fact a sign of strength. To put these words into action, we pledge to donate over $1,000 in funds/free product to verified mental health organizations this year and are planning to partner with both national/local mental health associations.

Where can I buy Fuerté?
We are a DMV-based company but are focused on expanding in stores/gyms in both the Washington, D.C. and NYC metro area. Additionally, we're offering Fuerté on our website. Make sure to follow our social accounts (see the bottom of the page) to keep up to date on product information and availability!
How many flavors do you offer?
At the moment, we only have our lemon tea variety. We hope to expand our flavor lineup soon!
Do I Need to Shake The can Before Opening?
Yes! We recommend giving the can a quick firm shake and then letting it sit for ~20 seconds before opening it to ensure the best consistency. Reminder that some foaming is natural due to the whey protein isolate!
What is the 'best buy' date?
The date on the bottom of the can is the manufacture date. Fuerté is acidified, pasteurized, and fully tested for microbial safety and stability. That said, as a new brand, we are still determining the point at which the sensory experience begins to degrade and have tentatively set a "best buy" timeline of 15 months post manufacture date. If you happen to have a can of Fuerté and do not feel it was up to your sensory expectations, please reach out to us.
What type of protein does Fuerté use?
Fuerté contains whey protein isolate. Whey is derived from cow's milk, and whey protein isolate contains less fat, lactose and fewer carbohydrates than whey concentrate.
Is Fuerté carbonated?
No. Fuerté is bubbles free.
Is Fuerté caffeinated?
Fuerté contains an insignificant amount of caffeine (<2mg per can). If you have a severe caffeine sensitivity, we recommend consulting with your doctor prior to drinking Fuerté.
Does Fuerté contain lactose?
The whey protein isolate in Fuerté has been filtered to remove ≥99% of the lactose present in the whey. However, if you have sensitivities to lactose, we recommend consulting with your doctor prior to drinking Fuerté.
When should I drink Fuerté?
Fuerté can be enjoyed post-workout or simply during the day as a protein-packed refreshment.
Can I drink Fuerté as a meal replacement?
While Fuerté contains 15g of protein along with 20% and 15% of the daily value of Vitamin B6 and D3; it is only 110 calories and does not contain other nutrients your body needs. Getting daily nutrients from whole foods is always best, but Fuerté is a refreshing “snack” alternative if you are short on time or simply want to add more protein to your diet.
Is Fuerté gluten-free?
Yes. Fuerté does not contain gluten.
Is Fuerté non-GMO?
Yes. Fuerté does not contain GMOs.
